Im currently going through a fishless cycle,
the lights are on for 6 hours a day, iv got about 15 X turnover with my ex1200 and powerhead,
there is plenty of water movment and circulation, iv got sand as my substrate

iv got these brown some clear marks on the plants plus a couple of the leafs are starting to fall over.

there not bunched together there a good few inches apart

Some sort of deficiency i think.

Those look like emerged grown leaves anyway. Just keep breaking the ones with brown on them off at the crown and the newer leaves will start to grow through with better sword like shape when the plant has adapted to being submerged.

Mine did the same and now i have bushy plants with lots of sword like leaves and no deficiencies.

Also, were they like that already? Because they arent really too demanding and should grow well with ferts.

This looks like iron deficiency. Are you adding any fertilizers? What kind of substrate are you using?

My plants struggled for quite some time after I began, until i managed to get the CO2 levels rights, along with a good fertilizing regime. For Iron, I use Seachem Flourish Iron, along with other Seachem products (Flourish, excel, potassium, trace). Since then, my plants have been thriving.

Good luck!! :good:

Cheers
just cut about 6 off down at the crown,

i use to use leafzone but made my plants worse IMO,

just bought some TPN+ off ebay ( my Lfs dont stock)

goin to look into C02

Yeah you cant go wrong with TPN+ IMO.

If you can afford £70-£80 (depends where you buy the parts) look into fire extinguisher co2. Its less maintenance than yeast based and is a better supply of stable co2. Plus you actually have control of it.

I wont mind a CO2 set-up,
can you buy a kit with all the parts etc?

Cool :hyper:

Iv just looked at them 2 threads explaining and showing you how to make them, did you use them guides?

if you look at my sig i dont think it warrents a CO2 system, or do you think it does?

I can get a FE from work, so that will save a bit of cash.

On the thread with pics there is a couple of things i dont understand.

He shoes the preassure and 1.5bar, does the FE give out the preassure automaticly or do you have to depress the handle till its there then keep it at that?

How are the bubbles cooming out, through an air stone?

Have you got any pics of your set-up etc, why do you still use TPN+ if you have got an CO2 system, or is it better with both?

Cheers steve :good:

Just have the handle all the way down and just adjust the bubble rate with the bottom dial, no need to adjust the bar setting.

Plants need ferts as well as co2

Nice, do yo0u think i need one for mine?

been looking on the ebay at that aquatic magic whats deliver like,
do you turn the co2 off at night?

how is you fishless cycle goin?

Not bad, just waiting for the nitrites.

Yeah i have a solenoid valve on a timer that cuts it out at night.

If i were you id plant heavier.

Me too my ammonia has stop at 1.5ppm at 30 days? still no sign of nitrites and nitrates,
how long you been cycling?

im going to plant more when i sort i co2 system out.

what that aquatic magic like for delivery

did you get the reg with solenoid?

Nah i bought them separately. Never dealt with aquatic magic i dont think.

Whats your lighting?

Ive been cycling a while but i had mature media. So its nearly done
