So I'm now conviced that every time I think it's all going well I jinx it and it all goes wrong again : /

three/four days ago Flame, one of my female Guppies, was showing the same signs as Sunny was about a week and a half ago now. Sitting her belly on the gravel, hardly moving and breathing faster than usual. So off she went into the BN so I could keep an eye on her. Again ther were no visable signs of anything wrong.
A day before this she'd been staying near the top of the tank and not wanting to come down. All the other Fish were fine so I assumed that maybe Geisha had upset her. Geisha has been a bit of a stroppy thing recently due to her about to give birth (not sure if she actually has yet, but that's a different topic). She was getting a bit frustrated and was taking it out on the plants, nipping them and giving then all a good slap. But then I noticed that she nipped Flame, for no apparent reason, and Flame now has a chunk out of her tail. So I thought maybe Flame was upset by that at first. But the next day when she was on the gravel told me that it was something more, but what?
She was in the BN for a day, and the next morning I saw a little fluffy thing, tiny, on her side, just behind her dorsal fin. So panicing I started the Myxazin treatment again thinking the columnaris had come back.

Today is the third day of the treatment and Flame is still in the BN while I re-treat the whole tank. But I'm questioning what it is that's made Flame poorly. Having had a closer look at her the white spot isn't fluffy any more and actually looks more like a damaged or missing scale. It's hard to describe and I have no photos worth showing. It looks like a scale-shaped opaque-white 'spot' on her side. It's just behind her dorsal fin towards her tail. And with her tail been nipped by Geisha in her strop I'm wondering if she's just been in the wrong place at the wrong time?
But something was upsetting her before she got nipped. I think Geisha probably saw her as an easy target 'cause she's wasn't well. But there was no sign then of anything wrong to see on her. Not even this funny spot thing.

I know I haven't explained it very well, it's hard to do. But does anyone know what this could be? Fin rot? It doesn't look like fin rot to me and I've looked through so many photos and descriptions. Her tail does have a fair little chunk out of it but it's clean and there's no sign of rot. In fact I can already see it starting to smooth out and it looks like it's going to grow back nicly.
Could this 'spot' just be a missing scale? Could Geisha have done that? I know they have teeth but I can't imagine it would be that easy?

Geisha has calmed down again now, no more stroppyness. Sunny has a tiny little nip out of one pertorial fin, but that's nothing really. I'm suprized Lemon has got away with no injuries, how has he managed that???

Basically, I think Flame wasn't well before she got nipped and that maybe she got nipped 'cause she was just in the way of Geisha at that time. But other than a nipped tail and a funny looking opaque bit on her side I have nothing to tell me what's wrong with her. When Sunny wasn't well the Myxazin seemed to work wonders on him within a day of me starting the treatment. I was quite shocked really at how quickly he was improoving. But with him there was never any visable signs, no spots or fluffy bits. But the same can't be said for Flame. She's still not right, and although she's still eating she's not wanting to swim around and is just sitting there on the the floor of the net. I'm just at a loss really. The problem is that I have nothing to compare it too, it's all new to me and as a result I'm just guessing what can be wrong.

The Myxazin worked wonders for Sunny, should I carry on using it for Flame to see what happens? It says on the bottle that it's for fin rot and bacterial infections, although I got it 'cause I'm aware that's it's actually designed to fight columnaris. So surely if it's fin rot or some sort of bacterial infection then the Myxazin should work anyway?

Could it be that whatever it is that FLame has is imune to the Myxazin? And what do I do if it is? How on earth do you tell?

It's the same story as it's always been. All other Fish are fine. There's no sign of anyone else being poorly. They're all swimming round, happy as you like, eating, pooping, flirting... anoying the snails. Everyone is fine exept for Flame. And that worries me 'cause she's always been the one who doesn't care about anything, nothing ever phases her. So I know something is very wrong for her.

Oh, and the water tests havn't ever showed any signs that might explain it either. Everything has stayed stable exept for the amonia that I've managed to get down to zero. But of course that's not going to make her poorly. Everything else, the PH, GH, KH etc has all stayed the same. So has the temprature.

Hard to tell if there's an improovment really, but Flame seems to be a tiny bit more 'with it' this morning. She's hovering in the water as a pose to sitting on the gravel and she's using her fins and tail a lot more to keep herself where she want's to be.

So I think I'll keep up the Myxazin treatment for the five days it says to do and see where it gets me. Then I suppose I'll have to review things if she's not better by then.
