Had this white fuzz/ floating particles show up the past day or two. Newly set up tank using established filter and plants from the old tank. I did bleach dip as a precaution before planting due to my recent experiences with fish deaths (possible parasite/mycobacterium). Is this biofilm not coping in a sterile environment? Or is it something else?

Very fine white fuzz. The plants did have a coating of alage from the old tank, so that's why it's clustered on the leaves,

I think algae too. Did you rub the plant leaves to see if it comes off easily? I'm too chicken to ever reuse possible myco infected plants or anything else. I've only had myco 1 or 2 times & it scared the living crap out of me! Call me paranoid or overly cautious, you're braver than me.

This morning, there was a lot less of it. So I'm a little less concerned now.

I reused the plants from an infected tank for two reasons. They have grown so much over the last 2 years, which meant I could cover the hardscape. As well as I currently have a giant hole in my wallet, which means I can't get Buce anymore

it could be some sort of fungus breaking down the dead algae… likely not a tank issue, just something opportunistic breaking down the dead algae???
