Whats This White Stuff On The Back Of My Tank?

Hi,

I noticed last night this white stuff on the back of my tank on the glass. Does anyone know what it is?

This morning it has changed shape slightly and has moved about 2 inches up and to inches to the right, as you can see, its reached the top of my heater now...

I dont think so, I had just come home from a wedding on Sunday night so I havent fed since Friday?

No, I havent removed it yet as I didnt know what it was. If you think I should remove it then I will do it today.....


Yes rocknurworld2006, it does look like a cloud doesn’t it, I just hope there isn’t any Lightening….

Thats well strange, even more so if its moving, are you sure its on the inside of the tank and not between the outside of the tank and the backing?

Yes i'm sure because I dont have a backing, the outside surface of the tank glass is painted with black paint.

Its moving but not spreading, i would get rid of it, before it moves out of the tank and takes over the planet lol, i have no idea, but good luck finding out, someone must know.

It's a Slime Mould. They feed on organic matter if I've read correctly. I don't think they're harmful or anything but if you don't like it then I guess you could try sucking it up the tube when you do a water change?

Ok, if its not going to cause any harm, I will leave it for now and do as you suggested, I will get some water ready tonight for a water change tomorrow....
