I received a parcel with my bristlenose and tetras today. This little guy was mixed in, too. I have no clue what he is. Any ideas? Striped barb, maybe?

Dim the lights, add more cover in the tank for them to hide in...that lighting appears to be very bright
Done so already after doing a small water change today, and so far, all of the newest additions (6 flame tetras and the 1 mystery fish) are all alive and beginning to get some color back into them. The flame tetras are also schooling with my neon tetras now, and the new bristlenose is happily eating the tank algae.

I've never heard of fish surviving one week in transit, so we're cautiously hopeful!

That IS a long time to be boxed up...good luck with the new fish

Cherry barbs are kept better in a group. Sometimes it does happen that you bring back home more fish than you thought. Happened to me also a couple of times.
