Rickie Lee Jones was part of a scene with a major figure in the pantheon of gods in this house. She hung around with Tom Waits. There are more music deities in this house than the Romans had. Louis Armstrong, Julia Lee, Joe Strummer, Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, Tim Timebomb, John Darnielle, Ali Farke Toure, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, KIng Tubby, Count Basie, Billy Bragg, Leonard Cohen (but I knew him and he was mortal), Bruce Springsteen and more. And then there'd be the groups!

Asking me about my favourite musician or songwriter would be like asking for my favourite killie.
