Just wondering how much water you turn over in your tank(s)

Just worked out mine, I turn the water over about 9.8 times an hour.

Whats yours?

same, in most tanks you want to aim for 10x turnover on paper becuase in real life it is more like 5x.

mine is about 10X. plus i have a 3000lph powerhead in there for added flow.

My 60g discus tank has a peak 10X filter turnover and my 100g has a 5X filter turnover plus additional powerheads

300 gph + 160 (supposedly, I don't trust it) on 29 gallons = 15... lol...

I'll probably remove the 160 (Whisper Ex30, piece of junk!) once I'm done cycling, so it'll be 10.

Around 10x or 11x per hour on the goldfish tanks which is the absolute bare minimum for such messy fish. Running two Fluval 305s currently, will eventually be upgrading to at least one FX5 I think just to keep up with them.

The planted trop tank only has around 8x or possibly less as I've got the flow turned right down.

I've got a 6x2x2 running an fx5 and an aqua one 1200 - whats's that work out at about 6/7x per hour?

Mine is currently 14, but will be 8.4 (going off manufacturer specs) once I have removed the internal.

Find the manufacturers output for the filter say 400 litres per hour (Fluval 2+) then divide that number by the number of litres in your tank say 90

400 divided by 90 is 4.4

My sum was 1050+700=1750 divided by 125= 14

But in reality it will be less than this as most manufactures ratings are without media in the filter.
