Hi- Sorry for the bad puns. Have a question about my adult mollies and fry. Even though I recently started feeding them greens--peas, leftover asparagus tips, broccoli and cucumbers--a few of them still have these long, long (1 1/2 inches+) strings of poo! I think it's normal poo, but I thought feeding greens would help this possibly light constipation. Some books say feed peas once a week, some say everyday is fine. The fish seem to be healthy otherwise. They're fed a combo of fish flakes-nutrifin and brine shrimp cubes. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks. -Wendy ???? :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:  :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

You could be feeding them too much. Try fasting for a couple of days and then just a tiny amount of one thing.

what colour is this fishy poo, if it is or has some white in it, this may be a sigh of an internal parasite.

could be not enough fiber in there diet this results in long stringy poo.

Hi- Thanks to all for the input. I did feed the mollies a little less dried shrimp cubes and a little more cucumber and broccoli and only a couple of them had little "poo tales" this time! (FYI, they are brown and normal looking, thank goodness). I guess I do have a tendency to overfeed the mollies a little bit--because there are several fry among them! And I guess I'll keep up with the soft, cooked veggies--
-Wendy

Also, does fiber for fish come primarily from the green veggies or is there something else I have to give them--a little oatbran, maybe (kidding)?

Well my Yatch (Sailfin pleco) leaves long stringy poo all around my tank everyday.
It seems like he poos a string after a string, you might say he poos 24/7

I don't think this is much of a problem but if there is any other feedback on wendy's mollies or my plec it would be welcomed.
