Whats The Important Thing To Do When Getting A New Tank?

Not great really... I've heard good things about this product. But I've never seen it in the US, therefore never tried it. MBOU said its good and she uses it, so until I hear otherwise, I defer to her experience with it.

I heard people got great results with it within a week or 2 were nitrates are reading 5 and ammonia and nitrite is 0. it says to use it for 7 days in a new established aquarium. people have e-mailed the support team about what it is and they say to use it when adding new water in WC which made people suspicious about it that that means it doent benefit but do we lose a bit of bacteria in WC.

No, the bacteria doesn't really live in the water, it lives on surfaces. That's why it takes so long to build up in a new aquarium, because its not there in any significant concentration.

So, the directions say that it needs to be CONTINUALLY added means that its not actually cycling the tank, but dealing with the ammonia another way. If you are willing to use that constantly, then it should work, but I don't think that's an effective way to cycle a tank. Eventually it will cycle on its own, but not in the time frame that they state.

It does work well for a mini-cycle though - for an established aquarium where an ammonia spike comes unexpectedly. It can deal with the ammonia while the bacteria build up their population again.

ive seen another product called tetra safestart (in my LFS) which was from a older product which instantly cycled a tank but needs to be in cold conditions like a fridge for the bacteria to survive

I've tried it. It didn't work for me. I would suggest you save your money and not be disappointed by these products.

Okay i see, i have stress zyme and i think that didnt work for me so i think the best way is to seed the new tank with my old media and have to see with water changes as i need to get about 4 buckets

Understood. Stresszyme is the same as the others... nothing really.

I have a 56 gallon tank and a 110 gallon. I gave up buckets pretty fast.

Oh yeah, i remember a long time ago my dad got this thing where you connect a hose pipe on each side of it and you put a drill on the center of it and when you drilling it, it creates a suction

Also is it possible to squeeze my old media sponge and put the juice of that in the new tank and is it possible to do this about once a week to increase the bacteria colony faster?

I was talking about how we would do water changes in our next tank with my dad and he said the similar or exact same thing where he would connect a pump to the tank and run a pipe out the house

It won't help a lot, because the bacteria cling on to the sponges pretty tightly.

Why can't you use ammonia for a fishless cycle?
