also when i was in my lfs and i was getting my 3 inch lionfish and the guy was catching it and it jumped from one tank to another he nearly fell off the stepladder and shouted f ing hell

the funniest thing was he didnt stop apolagising after wards for swearing even tho we were laughing

How did they catch the lionfish? Not with a net surely?

I remember a niger trigger jumped out from a tank about 9ft of the ground at my lfs, over the head of the manager about to sell it to someone, and it landed in a tank and 6 foot down and 5ft away from it into a tank of cleaner shrimp and feather worms and nudibranches etc,,,

went into the lfs and seen an amazing majestic angel

me hi there can i get the majestic please
lfs guy.how big is your tank

lfs guy,what have you got in it,
me leapord wrasse,yellow tang,scoter blenny,and loads of corals
lfs guy,tank is not big enough for those fish and the majestic will eat the corals
me no they wont i have had a few in the past
guy,sorry you have corals and that tank is far to small for the majestic and yellow tang
me i have a few tanks i will put hin in the other tank
guy ok just get a bag
meweeks later went in and had a pic with the 4x2x2 with majestic and all corals where still there see there ok in reef tanks
lfs guy you lied and didnt listen to me so get out

LFS- No you can just throw them in the tank like we do here.

One of my favorites is my conversation with my LFS. I was using PH 6.5 because I thought I had to buffer my water to maintain slightly acidic water for my discus. The LFS knew that. I asked the store why everything was turning green. He said my phosphates might be up. I tested them and yes my phosphates were up. There were none in my tap water, so where were they coming from. Duh, PH 6.5 and many others are PHOSPHATE buffers! Furthermore he said he would have to talk to the supplier about that.

Sorry, this is a freshwater story!

Sadly I go to a really reputable LFS, so I don't have any stories of employees, but I do have my favorite comment by a customer:

Guy came in with a water sample complaining that all his corals had died. So the owner breaks out the refractometer, tests the water, and says right away, "Well, your specific gravity is 1.032."

Customer: "Is that bad?"

Me - *bangs head against display tank*

Talking about tunze streams
I was sitting having a coffee in my lfs when this guy came in, he looked around the shop then went over to the lfs owner and asked if they had any tons streams in stock that where suitable for his 3 ft tank. The lfs owner replied sorry m8t no we don’t have tons of any think in stock
