What is the difference between Female Platies And Female Swordtails?

Welcome to the forum King Hemigrammus.
I find that I cannot tell a female platy from a female sword except that the platy is usually a bit stockier than the sword. If you have managed to mix the two fish, it could be difficult to separate those two.

As oldman said, they look very similar.

Platies tend the more plump and rounded whereas swordtails are more streamlined and usually have slimline shape (unless pregnant or overfed of course lol)
