What's Happened To My Lampeyes?

can firemouth cichlids eat lampeye killfish? i have got 1 f.m and i used to have 5 lampeyes. i am now down to 2. when i noticed one had disappeared it was recently after a water change so i thought i had maybe thrown it out with some old water by mistake as there was no sign of it int he tank or the filter. more recently i have noticed another 2 have gone and i'm not sure what's happened to them. there's no sign in tank or filter and ammonia levels are normal. the only explanation i can give is that the firemouth has been enjoying a midnight snack! is this likely?

How big is the firemouth? I would almost certainly say yes unless he's a little baby

he's certainly not a baby. it's hard to estimate his size, i'd say he's about double the size of a fully grown serpae tetra, i have 5 of these and he easilly looks twice their size
