My fry died after a 100% water change from my tap which the water comes from a really clean well and filtered through a pump in my shed, and shortly after all 8 of them died  what is going on, i hate when this kinda thing happens cause i thought i was doing a good deed for them, and my hopes were up for my new mollies

who ever helps has a :good: up to em lol
THANKS!

i have molly fry myself, i don't do 100% water changes i only do 20-30% every day, i find that is enough, upto 50% but i think 100% may of been too much. Also how often were you feeding them? i feed mine about 4 times a day with hikari first bites.

Sorry for your losses

Sorry for your loss, maybe your water was too cold or too warm for them. Maybe there was just too much stress

Yeah i think i did too much water change, I fed them 2-3 times a day on liquifry but frequently i fed them on crused flakes!

i have a female ready to blow here fry but here belly has been the same size for like 1 1/2 week whats wrong here?!!

the tempreture was at 80F maybe it was to warm there was also alot of very small bubbles 2!!!

Common aquarium mollies can live in any water from pure fresh water to pure salt water. I doubt the salt is to blame. I have no idea what is in your shed but unless the water has been dechlorinated it will make short work of almost any fish when you do a 100% water change without dechlorinating. It is not "how it goes" when breeding common fish like mollies. If they are well cared for, you will have almost 100% survival in those fish, much like I did with these. It is time to track down what the problem is or you will have the same problem again.

the thing in my shed is called a pump filter which takes the ammonia & nitriates out of the well water so it is much healther to drink. Im not 100% sure that it takes out the chlorine but it should have got less chlorine than any other normal tap water since the water from the well is as good a still drinking water!

what i meant by this kinda thing happens all the time when breeding fish is that i used to breed siamese fighters but when the male put the falling eggs back into the bubble nest he kept knocking more out, but eventually there was one time when the male did take care of the eggs the young hatched then he just ate them up!! but i think it is easier to breed mollies as i have got a new batch of 18-22 black mollies that are ultra cute!! and im not going to do 100% water changes any more.

instead im going to get bacteria cycle, and dechlorine thingy for the water even though my water would be good enough for discus as there is 0.02 ammonia & 0.13 nitrate
