I currently have yo yo loaches and they really amazed me as an aquatic species. How long have your yo yo loaches lived and how long does it take for them to grow.

Well having one is not good; they should be kept in a group. They will eventually kill all snails when they get larger - mine are 4 to 6 inches. What happens is if they can't get to it directly they will harass it until it dies then eat it.

Oh so I should have more than one Yo Yo loach?

They should be kept in groups of 5 or more the more the better but of course they can get large so this takes a large aquarium.

Thank you for the general advice on Yo Yo loaches. I'll keep getting another loach in mind but my tank is at capacity right now. The Yo Yo seems quite happy with the zebra. It's come to my attention that my Yo Yo loach is actually very shy and practically never come out and bothers the snails anymore. He is getting on a bit, so.

They can live 10+ years; yes the zebra and yoyo will group up if he can't find members of his own species but a full grown yoyo is 1.5 time the mass of a full grown zebra loach.
