whats a good gentle bottom fish!?!?!

They grow up to about 5" and are peacefull unless you put 2 together, they are are an ideal algae eater for the small to medium community tank, I am not sure if they will eat fry but I know that the male actually looks after its own fry. The only thing that this fish needs is a piece of bogwood for refuge. Hope this info helps

my lfs didn't carry the brit pleco, but they do have peppered cory cats. they look just like the albino ones i have only gray with dots. Would they be good in my 20gal fry tank?

ph 7.8

If you want the Panda cories, how about putting those in the tank where you have the albino cories and put the albino cories in with the fry.

Just a thought

that sounds like an excellent idea, but ive had so much death due to moving fish around and since the albinos are my last original fishys, i dare not touch them or move them anywhere, both tanks readings are the same (am0, nit0, nate5,10) except the ph where its 7.3 in my 1st tank and 7.8 in my fry tank. Im guessing this is due to the driftwood that raises the ph?

i also read up on pandas and they require a low ph say 6 to 7, so the 7.8 and even 7.4 is risky. i will probably just get peppered cories. let me know of any experience with them guys, thanks

Hi BLASK! :D
It's a shame that you're LFS doesn't carry bristlenosed plecs, I have five of them, and they're really cool! They don't eat platy fry either, so they would have been ideal for you. :dunno: Oh well. You could just get some otos, though I know someone said in this post earlier that an oto once ate a fish egg, but maybe you should just get some more albino cories. Though I'm going to get four pigmy cories, they're really sweet, but I don't know if they will eat fry. You still have a lot of options. Good luck!
Oh, and in my empty 10gal, I have a piece of driftwood, and I came back from holiday a few days ago and it has a bit of the stuff that you described on yours. It can't be mouldy food, because I haven't even put any food in mine. So let's hope that my new pigmy cories eat it! :)
