What!?

Okay, now I'm utterly confused, stunned and sad.
I just added 2 small harlequin rasboras to my 10 gallon tank. It's a community tank. Well apparently my sunburst platy was having NONE of this - he ate their eyeballs out and killed them!!! Oh my GOD!!!

What the heck is this about!?!?! :blink:

Wow, I have never heard of platys being aggressive like that! I have a 40g tank with 5 platys, 1 swordtail, 4 cories ( i know this should be six, but everytime i got to the LFS they are sold out or the cories look sick)and 5 harlequins....not to mention baby platys. I have never seen them pay the harlequins no mind...that is so weird. They are normally such docile fish.

my platy's are nuts...even nipped the fins of my cory's....everything, but docile

Platies can be horrible fish, but luckily the ones I have owned have be great.

Mine too. I have never seen my platys be anything but sweet. Although they nip at my fingers when I go to test their water lol. But to each other and their tankmates, they are the sweetest little guys. Could that have anything to do with the fact that all my platys are females? The only male in the tank is the Swordtail, and I think 2 of my three harlequins are male...unsure of my cories.
