On holiday, I visited swallow aquatics in tenterden. They had a tank setup labelled as brackish with some fish in which looked a bit like angel fish. They were white with a yellow top fin. The fins were a lot shorter than angels and they definitely looked different.
Walking round the shop, I saw a huge tank with their resident red tailed catfish in. There was a notice, talking about ammonia etc so I thought I was in for a treat-LFS that knows what it's talking about.
Then I saw the bettas :-( Just over £20 for a betta, a tiny (maybe 6"x4"x4"?) box with gravel, an ornament and a scrap of pondweed. They looked so lethargic and I suspect a couple may have been dead.
Anyway, any thoughts on the mystery fish? Thanks

The brackish angelfish is called a Mono/Monodactylus argenteus

dunno, i've always known them as that. if you look it up it is one of its names.

Thank you :) That's what they were.

Had to use the latin name though, brackish/malaysian angelfish both brought up pics of marine fish.
They actually look a bit like silver dollars don't they? Very pretty fish :)

thought it would be the mono. Look very impressive and a shoal and actually get very big
