What Type Of Cichlid?

A friend of mine needed to find a home for 2 of her cichlids and I offered to take them at the end of the month, she lives out of town and has yet to email me a pic. She doesnt know what kind of cichlid they are, she says they are 2 years old,3 inches long, vertical stripes and the tips of the back fins are bright green. Can anyone tell just by that descrption?? Thanks. WILL post photo once its sent to me.

what color is the body? what color are the fins? what is the body shape like? whats the Head like?

No way we can tell you or help off of the very little info you gave us. Post a photo.

3 inches after 2 years, probably an apistogramma of some sort. But i dont know any with green fins

There are so many to choose from it could be any malawi cichlids, try looking through this site, got some nice pics you maybe able to id it from here.
