Right I've done plenty of research but for the life of me I can't figure a good stocking, I'm new to this so just suggest anything and everything!

The tank is 60 x 30 x 40 cm and 65 litres. The tank is moderately planted with a gravel substrate. Temperature is 24 degrees celsius, general water hardness about 6 and Ph is 6.5 - 7.

I would just like some fish that are fairly active and colourful (anything other than neon or cardinal tetras hehe)

Cheers for your time and effort!!

Chocolate gouramis? They're an interesting little fish and have been appearing more and more at LFS's recently.

Otherwise, how about a shoal of sparkling gouramis or chilli rasboras (or you could cram some harlequins into that tank)?

For a tank that size I think the smaller tetras are your best bet actually, harlequins are good but very active( mine are anyway), a couple of Cory catfish, perhaps a trio of small gourami (1 male, 2 female), its a tough call, took me ages to decide on my stocking and still haven't cracked it or decided properly yet :-(
