Well today i might be getting my new fish (depending if he feels better) and I was wondering if i could but in 5 platies or would it be better with 5 mael cherry barbs? Or not as many at all. The filter has 1/3 of the media from my other filter and has been running for like 2 weeks now so i tihnk its building up a good bacteria colony (lol) with my 2 mollys and swordtail in their.

So what shall i get. My full stocking list and can you tell me an order to put them all in.
6 harlequins
2 Honey Gouramis
3 cherry shrimp
4 male cherry barbs
5 platies.
4 pgymy cories.
And yes i know it will be overstocked but i am going to do 2 water changes a week.

Thanks :good:
Edit: Sorry thought you mite now from my previous threads. 11 gallon and i have no clue on measurements but its long and not very wide and teep.

if your tank is that small, cut out the platies and harlequins.

it's all well and good you doing regular water changes, but that won't prevent the fish being frustrated at being in a relatively tiny tank. especially with sensitive creatures like those pygmy corys, they can be little buggers to keep alive.

i wouldnt keep barbs in that size either, as they wil get nippy and frustrated. no rest places for other fish.

I believe its a tetra aquart 60L tank (correct me Lucy if Im wrong).

With the swords/mollies already in, I would say Harlequins next x 6. Then two honey gourami, 6 pygmy cories and finally the shrimp and thats about it for the comfort of the fish, including space to swim.

Well
1 gourami
5 platies
3 cherry shrimp
5 pgymy cory
and barbs.

Well i have had people told me its okay and some say its horrendous and some say its okay. And at least i care more than msot people but i really can't be bothered anymroe and its annoying buying a tank for £30 and being told your aloud one fish in it.

P.S Mollies aren't staying in their in they're to keep the bacteria goign
and yes it is a 60L tank

OK if the mollies and swords arent staying, then you should be ok with that, watch those cherries dont get eaten, give them plenty of plants to hide in.

i had barbs in a small 2 foot tank and they were absoloute ####'s. they nipped everything and caused havoc, they also stoped other fish getting food, as soon as i moved them to a tank double the size, they were fine and settled in. i dont recommend barbs in tanks under 3ft.

Amanos are bigger and stand a better chance IMO. They require salt water to raise the babies though, so you wont get any breeding from them.

i have 6 amanos and they are super! get them lucy!!

Kk i will but i really want babies but hey. Anyway just got back from P@H and they'res new staff wo are knowledgable ! lol I got 2 honey gouramis and they're so cute just netted them out and they're settling in, inside the cup lol. Seem nice and healthy. Yay names anyone not sure on genders lol.
