Well I'm kinda rearing up two baby apistos by myself, as thier siblings were eaten by thier parents (long story).
Anyways they are starting to grow pretty big about this big: ____

and I want to give them something other than BBS, what can I do, can I chop up blood worms and stuff?

any suggestions would be welcome, BBS is really annoying!

oh heres a pic of one of them *aww*

Try feeding them powdered flakes and crushed up stuff. If they dont like it, i dont know what to do. Sorry!

If you really want to cut up blood worms, that would be fine. Are they still to small for regular brine shrimp?

well I'm letting the BBS grow a bit bigger beforer giving it, but right now they're getting to eat only that, although I did feed them some odd small bugs I got with my waterfleas (safe live food? never heard of it.) think they ate that. I just dont want to be like mum and dad, only eating blood worms, nothing else

I have a male who only eats frozen or live foods; he will not touch flake. My females, on the other hand, will eat anything that floats by. Go to the freezer at your lfs or lps and pick up some frozen foods. You should be able to easily find, brine shrimp, krill, blood worms, glass worms (i think that is what they are called), etc. Quite the mix there. I like to buy the "variety packs" so that I can vary the diet.

Oh, and I totally understand about not wanting to get into the "eats only bloodworms" trap. Have you tried waiting a few days, and then offering your male soemthing else? I have found that most animals (even picky ones) will eat different things if they are hungry enough.

lol my male takes about 6 blood worms per serving, 3 times a day (don't worry I'm not overfeeding, he is pretty big)
