Hello fish fans!

I thought I'd pop my head into your forum to get some advice.

About a year ago I took on a friends aquarium, as he was unable to look after his fish anymore due to taking a job which involved a lot of travelling. It only had 5 fish left at the time.
Sadly, 3 fish have now died ( I feel guilty for this :( ) - not all at similar times - so i'm hoping it's not from the same disease or anything. There are only 2 left - a neon and a cat fish.

I don't intend to keep the aquarium long term - so I'd rather not buy new fish.
Should I give the last two fish away, so they can live on with other fish or let them live out their days in a big empty tank?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matthew

If it is not your intention to keep going then it would be probably best to pass the fish to a better stocked set-up as both cats and neons are shoaling fish so will be constantly nervious in low numbers

depends on the catfish.

but the neon should definately have friends. They are happier in shoals. also depends on his size though, and the tankmates they would be going to. its a shame you'll be giving them up because fishkeeping is fun when you have the time and patience :)

Thanks for your opinions. I think I'm going to have to let the little guys go to a better home
