do i need to boil it or owt?
iv rinsed it in warm water

I just wash rocks too. As long as they're not ingrained with dirt or been lying around near chemicals they should be fine. Bought from the lfs they should be ok, it's only bogwood I tend to soak overnight in hot water to get rid of any nasties that might be lurking.

Yeah i washed it in warm water and had a look round it, it was bought from a lfs so was the mopani i boiled that for 30mins and now its soaking it hot water till 2moz
cheers

hey, will you let me know how your mopani is doing? I got a piece a few days ago and its still tanning the water that im soaking it in.
it sucks because i really want to add it to my tank.

EDIT:
dont boil rocks, hot water is fine. Just make sure that you test your pH and water levels for a few days after adding, if anything drastic (pH swings, other strange happenings) happens then you will need to remove it.

Hi well i boiled the mopani for 30mins water went really red, then left it a fresh hot water from 4pm till 8am the bucket had a tint of red but nothing really,
but the filter should help clear too
