What To Do With Pinky Doo?

Pinky Doo (named by my little boy) is a rather ugly kissing gourami, she came to us about a year ago now, skinny and from a filthy tank, she was in a 3ft tank with 2 large plecs. From the shape of her she is obviously stunted as she has rather a large head, massive eyes but a scrawny body. I didnt think she would last a week from the state of her, but decent food and clean water she is still here. However she has been moved round every tank I have (except with the big turtles), she even lived with the little turtle for a while, but her attitude stinks!! she is quiet for a few weeks then she starts on the other fish (she was having a go at the little turtle), I have recently moved her out of the Ellioti fry tank as she constantly picked on my female convict, but finally the con had enough and pinky doo ended up with a shredded tail. She has been moved to yet another tank and now her tail has healed she is starting to chase the snakeskin gourami (who are about 6") Pinky is only about 3-4" she should be a lot bigger as her previous owner told me they had her for 3 years making her around 4 years old. Would she be better off with other kissing gourami?.

I wonder if she is going through breeding cycles...? Maybe she is getting the fish version of PMS.

Is she also showing big fat belly at the same time as she starts to get territorial/aggressive, and when she calms down has she shrunk down to her normal size (after letting eggs go).

Maybe you will either need to separate her when this behaviour starts (with a tank divider maybe), or try to re-home her now she is healthy.

She never has put on any weight, she always looks skinny, I say she is a she, but could be male I cannot tell. Love the idea of fish pms I dont think anyone would want her, she is rather ugly with her big head.
