Ok I already have a 20 gal and a 10 gal, and now I have an empty 55 with fake plants thats just about ready to go. I'm not sure what I should do, in my 10 I already have 2 angel fish and a red tailed shark, and in my 20 i have 17 fish, tetras, platys, corys, and a danio.

Should I combine these to tanks into the 55 or should I try something new, any suggestions would be apreciated or any ideas for the new tank.

Don't have experience with the shark, but I'd for sure move the Angels to the 55. :good: I imagine the shark would need to be moved to a larger tank as well, and I think they can actually be quite aggressive if they don't have enough space. I'd also go for some real plants too. :p I told myself I didn't want the hassle of dealing with real plants when I got my first tank, now I have 2 planted tanks and hope to soon re-do my original that still has gravel/fake plants.

What kind of substrate will you be using? What kind of Tetras do you have? They will have to be a pretty good size if you want to mix them with the Angels. How large are the Angels right now?

I have 2 x ray tetras, 3 blood fin tetras, 4 neons, 3 that I can't remember the name but there black and not the same body type as the neon and others.
The angels are about 2 inches long maybe 3, and the shark is pretty peaceful in the 10 with the angels but thats most likely because it is in charge of the caves.

What do you think is most important to promote real plant growth in this 55 because I have old lights and no co2 system, and the gravel is pea gravel mixed with some finer grain stone.

The redtail needs the 55g He will get to about 6" and get real agressive.

ya thats what I figured but do you think he'll get more aggrssive than he already is? Because he seems fine in the 10 gallon and I thought the bigger tank would make him even less agressive
