hi,
not sure where to put this because its got a bit of both plants and fish :P
i have a spare 35l and i am trying to decide what to do with it. i would like to create an amano style tank but is 15w in a 35l tank enough for good plant growth, with carpet plants? - i would use very rich substrate and some CO2. also, does anyone have any suggestions for fish - i would like to keep a colony of cherry shrimp - and would like some interesting tnkmates, maybe a couple of sall feature fish or a group of tiny ones?
or should i go for a completly different setup to an amano?

also my tank has a ph around 7.8, so soft water species (like kribs) cant go in :(

Well since the tank is only 7 gallons Kribs are a big no no anyway. A betta would be a good choice, or for something smaller bright and active, 4 Male guppies or Male Endlers would be fine

if you are going for an amano style planted how about amano shrimp??

from the other htread, it is unlikly i can get a nice looking planted tank without adding extra light, which may be difficult because the fluorescent tube power pack is built into the hood and there is not really any room for any other fish, so i am going to rethink an aquascape
