I'm going to be changing from gravel to sand substrate(Caribsea Black Marine Sand) at some point soon as I'm going to be getting some Cories. I also plan on planting my tank- nothing really heavy but a fair amount so i was reading up on keeping plants and found out that sand isn't too good for them as it doesn't hold nutriants. If this is true then is there something i can do to keep the plants healthy? I don't want to go down the route of Co2 or anything too techy but i also don't want to end up with a bunch of sorry looking plants ;p
So is there something i should do or will the plants grow happily with this sand?

Nothing stopping you adding a base layer of a nutrient rich planted substrate underneath the sand... But tbh, if you choose your plants wisely then you will have no need to go for this option as it can become expensive. Easy going, non-fussy plants will be fine in the substrate you have chosen.
