What To Add?

Hello everybody! I have a 10 gallon tank that has been successfully running since the end of August. There are 5 Orange Von Rio Tetras and one mystery snail. I used to have two of them but one of them died yesterday after 1.5 years. Anyways, I was thinking if I were to add something I wonder what would be compatible in the tank. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd suggest getting 2/3 more Von Rio Tetras, as they prefer to be in a slightly larger group than you have.

AIUI they are nice and peaceful, so your options are quite broad. You could get a male fighter, a couple of peacock gobies, a shoal of something very small, like chilli rasboras or celestial pearl danios, maybe a couple of platies.

As above really, but other suggestions include shrimp, pygmy corys, sparkling gouramis or perhaps a badis

Gouramis would get a bit on the big side wouldn't they?

Scarlet Badis is a good shout.

Thanks! I used to have 2 ghost shrimp but after around 24 hours all that were left of them were...nothing. This makes me think that my Orange Von Rio's are a little more on the fiercer side but I could be wrong. Plus I'm limited to what species I can buy at my LPS. They don't accept your orders to have more shipped to them. My best choice would probably be a platy or two.

Also, if I get 2 platys what should their genders be? I don't want females because I don't want any fry.

Sparkling gouramis are a tiny gourami species, max size about an inch to an inch and a half.

Also, with regards to genders, even if you end up with fry, the Von Rios would likely pick them off, if they are a bit nippy. If you can get just males then they should be ok though as they have no females to fight over.
