would agree its an ellioti, but not going to attempt to sex.

This is my old female ellioti, notice the splodges on the dorsal ? Male elliotis don't have those markings. The colour difference is easy to explain. My elliotis had more colour simply because I had black substrate. Fish tend to mimick their surroundings. Not saying it's 100% ellioti but I think it is.
