What The Hell Is That?!

Hi All

Went to do a water change this morning and when i took the lid of my tank i noticed this green stuff on top of my heater anybody got any idea what the hell it is and how i can stop it coming back if it ever does first time i have noticed it and it was not there 2 days ago so what ever it is its came on quick

It's a mineral deposit that will happen especially on light

no its fine, its also dead algae etc. harmless a result of evaporation.

Just looks like some form of algae or like the above comment, a mineral, that occurs in humid conditions.

They're most common for me underneath the glass supports around the top of my tank

a did have brown algae grown on the back of my tank which i just wiped off and its a closed top tank so theres not much room for evaporation to go just as long as its not harmful to the fish then im not bothered
