'what The Hell Are You Doing'?

Lol, my old male Betta, Simon, used to flare up at a pointsetta plant.

My boy , Gabriel - flares at his mirror all the time. Outside the glass is best ,my mirror is sometimes a bit messy, toothpaste on it. :good:

Hey All, This Topic Gave Me An Idea So I Just Went And Tried It To My Male VT. He Flared Up And His Tail/Fins Were Amazing Too. He Started Butting The Glas

I'm sure most of you know this but wanted to mention... Never "play" with your betta (via mirror) for too long as prolonged stress can kill......

My current betta used to flare at anything bright, round, or shiny and used to bite my nails if I put my fingers in his tank... then one day my cat discovered my betta.... my poor fish ended up with a HUGE gash in his head (poor guy)..... since he healed he hasn't flared at anything... seems his near death experience humbled him ;).....

Side note-I highly recommend "bettaFix" (it's made from teatree oil). I'm sure it's why my poor guy survived and….. It will not damage real plants and will do wonders for healing fin/body damage... Not useful for ick or other illness..... :fish:

I actually gave mine a quick flare this morning. I put the mirror outside their tank, they go nuts. In fact, they get more worked up over the mirror than the betta in the other side of the divider. Probably because they see the other betta more than themself.

Wouldn't it be weird to not know what you look like? -_-

If I place the mirror near Mr.B's tank he flares up and then goes on a mission around the tank just incase another Betta has evaded his tank.
If the mirror is near the bottom of his tank he spends his time flaring then going for air then coming back.
