What the heck is this bug in the tank?

About to do a water change and I see this thing in the tank. What is it? Is it dangerous?

Looks similar to a dragonfly nymph. If so, it will predate small fish and shrimp.
 
Either dragonfly or mayfly. Yea get rid of it if you got small fish. I've got a tank with a big cichlid in it, and he eats them like crazy too though
 
Thank you. I certainly was not expecting to see that.

I’m assuming some of the plants I recently got had larvae. That was a first for me. Happy to know it’s harmless.
