Hi All

I have my new tank up and running and want to transfer all my fish into it in a few days/weeks time depending on how it all goes with the set up :)

Question is I have some zebra and lepoard danios, a silver shark and two angel fish... The fish shop sold the danio's as tropicals but looking at various websites (all of which say different temperatures for them)... My question is what is the best temperature for the tank?

Looking into the temperatures for my fish, I am working on 24-30C for the Angels, 22-28C for the Silver and 18-27C for the danios (That was the range through about 10 or so websites I looked at)...

Was thinking of setting the tank to a min of 25C, would this be ok for all the fish? The tank in the room is keeping its temperature between 25-26C at the mo with the warm weather (heater not switching on at the mo) but when the temperature was up yesterday it did reach 27C!

Advice please? :good:

I wouldn't have danios in anything above 24C (with that being the max) And I'd rather keep them at 20-22C.

Fish are normally fine in 'unsuitable' temps when it's only short term. Eg. Danios will be fine in 27C for a few days during some hot weather. But I think they would be very short lived if kept at those temps for more than a few days.

disagree, with the danio's at 27 degrees.
i have had my danio in a tank at 30degrees for over 2 years now and hes always happy and moving around

That is reasuring to hear Matthew :) Mine are happily swimming around in the tank at 25-26C at the moment
