eventually down the line and most prob in F3+ (3rd generation and above) you would get the CTDT a lovely tail type that is very hard to achieve and esp to maintain. the prob with using these 2 tails is that the DT holds a high % of VT genetics, the crowntail comes in forms of delta - halfmoon base structures if the crowntail is a delta base and if the DT throws out the VT (some do throw out wider spans though) you will only get VT combtails in the fry, you will get some of these fry throwing out the classic DT dorsal fin and these are the only ones that you should keep to spawn again, the Doubled tail wont come out until atleast the 3 generation but the dorsal is quicker to arrive in the fry of previous generations, its not worth crossing this tail cross back into the parents as each parent is a different strain thus making it hard to give you the desired fry as you are aiming to increase both genes and by using the parents with these fry you will be reducing one of either genetic. Spawning 2 of the fry with the longest ct extensions and with both having the DT dorsal fin will get you close to the CTDT and i would expect it to start showing in the next generation in a % of the fry. What tail would I get if I crossed a CT male and a Double Tail female?
