what sort of catfish can i get?

hi i havnt got a catfish in my tank, but ive allready got 4 platties 2 swordtails, 3 bettas and 8 platty fry in my 2 foot tank can I have a catfish?, if so what sort of catfish should i get?

2foot as in 2x1x1?? 15US gals?

I'd say there wasnt much more room in there really.

maybe a couple of small corrys - Pygmy Corys (Corydoras pygmaeus)

With the tank size and tank occupants you have you are quite limited as to which catfish you could keep, Corydoras are probably the best bet as these rarely exceed 2" and will not harm even the smallest fry. Others you could try would be upsidedown catfish (Synodontis nigroventris)or smaller members of the Loricarid family like Otocinclus or Ancistrus species.

hmm i dunno really its 12 inches wide 24 inches long and 14 inches deep so how do i work that out

o and i wouldnt mined if they did end up eating some of the fry if not im going to sell them or just give them away anyway

corys are bottom feeders - they wont chase the little fry - they may take the oppertunity to eat them if they find one on the bottom though.

it'll be about a 16 US gal then.. so I'd say your pushing it (unless you going to be getting rid of the fry rather than geeping any)

hmmm when i think about it maybe i shouldnt get any catfish.. atleast not unltill i get a bigger tank o and i was thinking a bristle nose catfish would be good wat do u think?

bristles are a great fish - they poo a LOT though
