Iv currently got 2 tetra ex1200's running on my Juwel Rio 400. Iv also got a little (6 inch) bubble wall/curtain in the middle of the tank along the back basically just for the effect and to agitate the water a little more/more water movement...

What I was thinking though was to take the bubble curtain and air pump off and run a small powerhead in the tank instead. I was thinking to position it so it helps push waste left behind towards one of the inlet pipes or at least push it to one side of the tank to make it easier to clean/vac.

Does this sound like a good idea? If so what size powerhead (how many LPH) should I go for?

I know some fish like a lot of water movement and some don't, I got a dovii in the tank at the moment which I'm either thinking of keeping (if its female and if 450 litres is big enough for a female??) or rehoming in a week or 2 (see my other thread in tropical discussion section called "fish I.D and you will see how I came to have this fish and my plans)

if I don't keep the dovii then my Flowerhorn will be going back in the this tank... Do either of these fish like more water movement?

I've found all my central and most of south American cichlids seem to like some current. I have powerheads in all my tanks that have larger cichlids, except with my angels. Some tanks have powerheads, some have koralia's. In a 125 I would go with a sun sun 102, maybe 2 of them. I usually shoot for 5-10 times tank volume turn over per hour. This would include any filters.

Thanks for that. Very reassuring :) so my 2 filter would give me 2400lph combined without media and around 1900lph with media... My tanks 450L so I'd be looking at a max of 4500LPH max.

So if I get a powerhead for 1800LPH that would be ok? This would give me 3700LPH turnover with the 3 combined. That's just over 8x my tank volume.
