I've noticed over the last few days that my firemouth is chasing quite alot of my fish, it is chasing my rainbow cichlids, my blue rams and my keyholes, what should i do about this?

He doesn't get really nasty he just chases them for a minute and then stops!!

You have a few Cichlids in that tank, all of them really need a cave or hiding area and territory of their own, it could be that the Firmouth feels that the others are encroaching on his territory so is doing what comes natural to him and all other Cichlids chasing off intruders.

Thanks for the reply, i was thinking the same thing about territory, i was thinking they were probably invading his space so therefore he would chase them off!!!

I have a very big rock cave in my tank and loads of plants, i will probably put in a few more caves to see if that makes any difference.

If you got to the pictures section i have just put up some pics of my tank and fish, maybe you could give me an opinion?!!!!

Thanks again. :D

I decided to take my firemouth to the LFS today, it was a lovely looking fish but it kept chasing other fish all the time so i thought it would be in the best interestes of the other fish that the firemouth was removed!!

It seems nice and peaceful again in my tank now!!
