I been thinking of breeding again, and wondered what I should breed if anything.

Please look in my sig (in my profile) for the fish I own.

Thanks

You already have the bristlenose, so they would be easy, if you can get them to breed, but I would try for the badis myself, as I rarely hear about anyone breeding them (I'm probably horribly wrong about this but I don't read many 'badis' breeding threads on here....)

have yuo got the time money and equipment to breed.if yes livebearers are easy to breed...if your up for a challenge mabe the badis or plec

i have seen it said on here that lviebears aren't much of a challeng and you can pretty much just stick em together, at least with gupies and plaites that said i will cerintl try bredding them first when i give it a go.

some one else asked on here and had some killies suggested i think!, BIG C might be your man there if your interested in breeding killies

Your 15gal is already very overstocked, and the 3rd divided section of your 12gal only has the equivilent of 4gals worth of space which is far too little for 4guppys and a betta.
Where will you put fry if you have them :/ ? you realy don't have any space in your current tanks, and im suprised you havn't already bred from your current livebearers.
I suggest you at least buy another 10gal minimum tank at least before you consider the prospect of breeding any fish.

I should have said I already bred nearly every lifebearer you can buy.

so realy looking to move forward in the breeding way of things, though space and money is tight, and realy anything I do breed will have to be in my current set up's.

I been thinking about it for months, and can't make my mind up what to do, so thought I throw the quetion at you guys and see what you think.

EDIT: the guppies in section 3, are youngsters witch where born here, they are acherly the last litter I bred before I gave up on my guppies.

I suggest you breed bacteria. Get a couple extra filters & get them running on the existing tanks to cycle. You will need them and a couple more tanks before you think of breeding any fish. The tanks you have are packed, I wouldn't think of trying to breed anything until you have grow out room. I think a couple of 20 longs would work out well for fry from any of the fish you have.

I have to agree with Tolak- to be honest your most of your tanks are already overstocked or stocked to their limits and i certainly wouldn't be thinking of breeding more to add to your current population; im not trying to be harsh here, only state the facts.

buy a new tnk really!cories are a good hing to breed and so are bettas IF you have the room!which you dont

well I have been thinking that. But I dunno part of me wants to do more in fish keeping and one thing is breed.

I've already balt the male Pl*c on inpulse.

I am considering getting a new better filter, would love to run an exsternal, but we had the one we last balt flood are hallway, so my other half won't let me have another.

one good thing I been to my LFS 2 weekends in a row and NOT balt any fish.

Part of been a fish keeper is taking proper responsability for your fish, and your fish would be alot happier with less tank mates- if you realy want to do somthing more for them, i suggest rehoming some of your current stock then either,
a. Stay with the left over fish once you have rehomed some, or
b. Rehome alot of them and then buy somthing different for the tank.
Either way, the tanks fish are also not in the best group ratios and them alone would need some re-stocking and rehoming.

Breeding fish i think is over-rated, and there is no need for it in your situation anyways. When it comes down to it, you realy need an extra tank of decent size or some serious re-arranging/rehoming of how your fish are stocked.

Well, since you've already bred livebearers, I would say go for kribs. Get a new 20 gallon and put them in there. BUT, I also think everyone's right in saying you need to do something about the over-stocking first.

It is very good that you haven't bought any more fish on impulse recently but realy you should go and buy some new tanks and spread out your current fish over a few. You know it isn't just bio-load or oxygen levels that need to be consdiered. You also need to keep in mind compatibility issues and that some fish won't get along once they have matured. Then there's physical space that is a major problem in over-crowded tanks and can lead to stress, aggression and sickness.

Another great thing to do if you feel you want to do mroe in fishkeeping is start to heavily plant some of your tanks. The plants will help keep ammonia/nitrIte/nitrAte low and will occupy you so that next time you can say you bought plants on impulse - not more fish. :)

all advice greatly reseved. :)
I already said to my boyfriend, that I'd give up me 2 tanks for 1 BIG tank, but NO, I've even asked about getting a tank for the betta boys, but NO.

If it was up to me I have all the fish I want in the right sort of tanks, but space and Boyfriend, are always against it, there are other problems about getting to many fish, but are to personal and to be honest I dout you'd beleave me anyway.

Ok new quetion, how would you sort out my tank?? B) :)

Plants are a good idea. I don't have a single live plant in any of my tanks, so that never even crossed my mind. Plants multiply also, the more common ones don't bring in much money, but the rarer ones cost a good buck. Breed plants! In a crowded tank, plants help break it up a bit, so the fish aren't all shoulder to shoulder.

The newt tanks a 15gal right? hmm...Say you buy a 20gal to add to the collection i would;

15gal;
5female guppys, 1male
3 endlers
4 albino corys
1 baby bristlenose

20gal;
5 pearl danios
3 badis badis
1 skunk loach
2 bristlenose plecs
2 ottos
4 khuli loach
3 shrimp

12gal divided= just keep the bettas alone in the divided sections

=minus 3 of the guppys(2female, 1 male), 1 otto, 2 zebra danios(optional- put in 20gal if you keep them), 2 mollys, krib.

I know this is rehoming alot of fish, but they will be alot better off for it and stay much healthier in the long run too :thumbs:
ps; what are ADF's stand for?
