Ok guys, I have just got back into fish keeping and decided that I want to breed some fish again.

I was thinking about wild guppy or endlers but I need something that a LFS would take for sure.

Here is the set-up.

I have a 30g with 1 angelfish and 1 cory cat so this will be used as the adult tank.

I have a spare 20g that has been set-up and running for a few months now empty (filter media is in the 30g) so this will be used as the fry/growing tank.

I have successfully bred guppy (real challenge huh? LOL), beta, goldfish, and koi. So I am relatively experienced in tropic breeding.

I have a brine shrimp DIY factory set up from when I bred betas so all I have to do is order some new eggs from brine shrimp direct.

I'm just looking for some info on what you guys think I should breed. I'm doing this for fun but I'm also looking to make a little profit off this by selling the young adults to some local fish shops.

I was thinking about convics also but not sure if the LFS would buy them and/or if my angelfish would like the convics. (my angelfish is very very very calm)

I should probably add that I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on some breeders.

Male, I don't have the room to raise angelfish. I could only raise maybe 10 at a time and they take months to grow big enough to sell.

then what about Green Terrors or GBR's

are you looking towards; cichlids, livebearers, misc fish, catfish or what other

yeah, i was thinking that after i posted that up

Green terrors grow to 8" and are very aggressive if I remember correctly. I don't have the tank space for them and the angelfish would be shredded.

Not sure what a GBR is.

breed firemouth cichlids, but try and get some wild ones, they look ace and you will have a chance of selling them :)

Snakeheads are illegal in the USA :(

They were outlawed after some Asians released them into the waterways and they started eating everything in the rivers.

Im leaning towards german blue rams. I'm just worried about buying a pair and having them not breed.

I think I'm going to go for german blues.

I have a couple of questions...

Where is a good place to buy a pair online? I do NOT trust my LFS.

Would the LFS buy the juvies or would I have to sell them online?

hmmmm

Trimar?

you could check your other LFS and hae them order them in for ya =]

mine order a mixture of adult/juvies.

get a proven pair of gbr's online at any good sites that sell fish

P.S the snakeheads could be bought online and no-one would know, just dont let any of your local fishkeepin' friends know that your keeping an actual fugitive fish

Any good online fish stores that you can recommend? Or a place where other fish keepers sell fish (other than the classifieds here)
