also...i am addicted to catfish, i know i dont have any room for any bottom dwellers, but i love catfish! i dont know much about them, or many different kinds, but i wish i had room for a big old school of pictus' or some bigger cories.

Tank size? Your flowerhorn should be getting pretty aggressive soon and may kill many of the inhabitants. The same goes for the JD although it might not kill as many fish.

im really not worried about the fish' aggression, i know these fish better than i know most of my friends. as for the tank size, temporarily they are in a 55g i am working on getting either a 300g or building an indoor pond.

I would hope they are being kept in something like a swimming pool :)
How big is the tank?

what about a texas cichlid. Then you will have the dark blue & black of the jack dempsey, and the light blue & grey of the texas.
Maybe a couple of severums or oscars.

i already had a cyanoguttatus, but i got rid of it. i picked up a gorgeous j.d. 8" for $5.50! it is gorgeous! i will post pics soon!!

I think it would be best not to buy anymore fish until you actually have the new large tank/pond- things don't always go according to plan, and you don't want to end up with a tank full of large growing aggressive fish which will outgrow it sooner or later  . Some of your fish are already growing large enough to be capable of killing or eating each other.
Edit: You are aware that your red tail catfish will outgrow a 300gal tank with ease and will probably need to be kept on its own at some point? Really, i wouldn't not advise anything under 1200gallons for these huge growing catfish.

i know my fish, i know their aggression individually, dont worry about them. i would not jeopardize the well being of my pets. the biggest fish i own is my a.a.r.t.c. and it is no where near aggressive.

anyway, the point of this thread was suggestions for things to add, not criticism about my tank. further more my albino asian redtail cat will be taken care of properly and is of no worry to anyone but me. as far as the tank not going as planned, one of these things WILL be happening this summer, i just havent decided what i want more.
