I've got a bowed front tank which i think is quite nice as i find you get better viewing from a variety of angles.

I'm thinking of getting a corner one as i've had to relocate my current tank from the kitchen to the living room.

What shape tank do you like and why?

Short and long for me, getting height out of plants and decor can be tricky, well in my expereince anyway, but the added length means you have plenty of room for scaping. My next tank will hopefully be 72x18x18"

Generally i agree with Themuleous, but i am planning my next tank i'm going for a jungle effect with hanging branches with fern moss etc and the dimensions will be 26"x22"x22" give or take a inch here or there.

It's unique and unusual....

Regular rectangles for me, cubes at a push.

I don't like bowfront as the curve distorts the view like a lens. Triangular are generally difficult to light for hi-tech set ups.

I also like wide tanks (front to rear) as this allows more room to create a sense of depth to an aquascape.

Weird shaped tanks like the one posted are awful IMO. For me the aquascape is a very high priority, next to fish and plant health. The best way to show an aquascape I think is to eliminate as much as the hardware surrounding it as possible. Weird shapes have the opposite effect.

My £0.02.

I prefer rectangular tanks but I did see a really nice hexagonal one yesterday.

I stll prefer the "traditional" rectangle type, but hopefully get a longer one. :)

I like the Rectangular and Cube shaped.

I am trying to find a Flat Round tank ATM for an Idea, Did Find a Huge Flower Arranging Bowl in Matalan. When i went back to get it, it was sold out. Might try Ikea when it opens here for more shape ideas.

Has anyone got a planted corner tank? I'd be interested in how much light you can add, plus how it actually looks when it's heavily planted. I've seen a 350L jewul on the web, but if i can't add more light it's not going to be worth getting.

It would be nice if people could post some pics of weird shaped planted tanks so i can make an informed decision.
