Hi all,What would you guys have in a 5ft? about 5ft by 18inch back and 2ft high.Cheers,Ben.filtering will be double etc. thanks.Ben.

Angel's, and Discus WOOT!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!! Or a few arowana's, or a lot of tetra's, or stingray's etc.

Artowana's get BIG, but need like frozen shrimp and everything. I would pick several oscar's!!!! Gotta love them!!!!!!!!!

what sort of layout would you have? plants, lice or fake? rocka? bogwood etc? Could i have a blue jd with a oscar?

Yeah you could, but i cant really give you too much advice on this, as i have never presonally kept any fish like theese for more than a few week's!!!!!!

thanks,WHt other fish could you put with a blue jd and a oscar in a 93g tank(uk galons)

thanks,Ben.

while it is possible i wouldnt risk a jd and an oscar together really. unless they start off in the same tank since they were juveniles. however there are still cases where aggression comes in.

p.s. keeping the blue jd alive and thriving may be quite a challenge

Personally I wouldnt have more than 1 oscar in that tank, its just not big enough (you could have a maited pair, but I doubt any tank mates).

You could have an oscar and other fish if you wanted. Or one large aggressive fish. Its up to you.
I don't recommend the arowana, they get too big.

Your tank works out at 425 litres or 111 USG/95 Imperial gallons. What I would do with a tank that size is:
'Community of cichlids'
1 oscar, 1 severum and a pair of FM

For one large fish, I would either have a large male trimac/RD/midas possibly a jag (though a male may outgrow it, a female should be fine).

You could have a breeding pair of 'smaller cichlids' eg. the smaller parachromis or any cichlid around the 12" mark or smaller.

I got a 90 USG and I'm planning to breed texas cichlids, so thats another option for you.

Definatley Discus all the way in a nice planted tank with mopani....... :good:
