Hi guys, sorry for the dramatics but I feel queasy right now! There is this thing, I think some type of worm, wriggling at the bottom of my tank! I thought it was a long poop until I looked closer and saw it was sort of segmented and it started wiggling!!
It's about 3cm long, and for size reference it is on sand.

Someone please tell me what this is and how the hell I get rid of it?? Google is not helping ‍♀️

(Can you tell I have a thing about worms!??)

Thank you!!

It looks like a long stringy poop. From a fish that needs worming. What fish are in the tank?

Is it moving? Looks sorta like poop to me.

Thank you for your reply
I thought so too until it reared its head up. You know how poop moves with the water flow sometimes...this wasn't like that lol. It literally looks like intestines, or like sausages being filled. It's still wiggling, almost pulsing. I recorded it but don't know how to upload

Yeah I thought a long unusual poop.
I have a couple gourami, tetras, yo-yo loaches, platies, and the most recent additions a couple of mollies.

My hunch is it has come from one of them, as it had it's dorsal fin down a lot, and they have been hiding for the most part, and occasionally sort of gasping at the bottom. It also seemed sort of constipated, sort of sitting in one place under some rocks with a very long poop. This thing is sort of pulsing ugh

It is possible that it is a worm, but the texture of its body doesn’t look right for a worm... what’s it doing now? Try to pick it up with aquascaping tweezers or your hands and see if it moves.

Aaargh I can't I think I need to siphon it out

It is one end is sort of open, literally like a sausage casing with the inside spilling out. Sorry if it's put anyone off their dinner lol!
I word just vacuum it out (as you did). Most people agree with my statement, that it is poop, so I would just get rid of it. If you see more and more of these that look similar, then I would start to get worried.

I really do hope so. I appreciate your help , thanks!
