What New Cichlid(S)?

Sounds good But if you get chance to upgrade go for it, when you full grown adult you will see what I mean. I never expected the sheer bulk of the fish let alone the length or height.

One thing I'm really unsure of is how fast Sevs grow, I've been looking it up and some say 1month and they get to 5" other places say 1year to get to 5". Some also say males grow faster than females.

Could anyone give me and idea of their growth rate?

Not much to go by but My Rotkiel went from 1 inchs to 4 inches in about 5 months and my red spot from 2 inches to 3 inches in about two months.

General rule of thumb is that they will grow between 0.5-1 inch per month.

I've been to my LFS today to buy some rock as the tank looked bare at one end. Obviously I couldn't resist having a look at the fish. I noticed they had a Blue Acara (about 3.5") already showing it's full colour - I refrained from buying it though. I've been reading up about then and generally it seems they're OK with Sevs, do you guys think one would fit with my current fish or not?

If not then am I fully stocked or would another species be a better choice, the tank, even with the Sevs is lacking something. Probably because they're not big and bold yet though.

yes a blue acara are fine with a severum.
