I have just got two breeding tanks which are around 120L each. They both have a sectioned off bit of glass which is about 6 inches tall. This is for an inbuilt filter - pump air in and suck in the water etc etc.
Anyway, i normally use sponge filters, but i figured while one of the tanks is empty, i'd like to experiment with this in built filter. I have bio balls and ceramic nodes, but the balls float to the surface, and without doing a DIY job to make a cover or what ever, i'd rather aim for something which sinks, but is not extortionate in price!
So, can someone point me in the right direction of some cheap, but not RUBBISH media which will sink?
I will then cover this with sponge filter, and then a fine filter media to save any fry getting sucked in.
