Ok recently I had to give away my 2 tinfoil barbs, they got huge and outgrew my tank unfortunatly. Id like to replace them with one cichlid. I posted the same question in the cichlid forum but those boards are sloooooooooooooow!! Here is what I already have.

46g tank

1 large Yellow lab
1 large red tailed shark
2 bala sharks
2 angels
1 common pleco and 1 chinese algie eater

Im most worried about the angels. The RTS is the only fish I have thats killed anything the bala's keep to themselves as do the angels and the yellow lab is a bit agressive but dosent take it far as the rts. For the most part though they all get along pretty well, Id love to add 1 more cichlid but again Im a little worried he might a meal out of the slower swimming angel fish. Suggestions?
Here are some pics of my fish and my tank:

the tank from afar, if you look in the upper left corner you'ss see the RTS latest victem (Albino rainbow shark)in the isolation tank, once I get him better he'll have to go, the rts will kill him if I put him back in.

I am going to have to say, probably nothing. The balas need to be in groups of 3, and they get to be something like 18" long. 46G isn't enough. The common plec gets to be 18" as well. I am not familiar with the other fish, so I can't comment. You might want to wait for someone that knows a little more.

well if they get too big its not a concern I have a friend with a bigger tank who would take them off my hands, Im primarily worried about a new cichlid killing the angels but I really want a new one, hence I need advice:) By the way I fixed the pics they should work now.

a yellow lab needs completely different water conditions to the other fish, it needs a ph of at least 8 so it isn't suitable for that tank.

I have a couple of questions/pointers on your fish;
a. how big or old is your red tailed black shark? RTBS should be treated in the same way as CAE's, while they may fit ok into community setups when young, they very often become aggressive and terotorial towards other fish and most often have to be given their own tanks to avoid them killing all the other fish.
b. bala sharks need to be in groups of 3 and in no less than a 75gallon tank, your friend may have a larger tank but wether your sharks are suitable for it depends on what fish they have, how many and how many gallons the tank holds.
c. How big/long is your chinese algae eater? they have a tendancy to become very aggressive and terotorial as they mature and while they may be okay for community setups when young, they are not as they mature and you most likely have to rehome this fish or get him his own tank at some point unless you want to start finding dead fish in the morning in your tank.

Im not an expert on angels or yellow labs so i couldn't say for them. Taking this current info into consideration though, your current fish do make your tank very difficult to stock with anything- although you don't have many fish for your tank size, their personalitys/behavior towards other types of fish make it difficult to put much else with them with nay success. The bala sharks are not suitable for your tank and are making it overstocked as it is and i would watch out between them, the CAE and the RTBS.
