Hello All !

For Christmas, we got a 10 gallon tank, and have been enjoying it immensely.

There is one part I am not sure about. In the whisper 5-15 box there was this part:

It was not in the instruction on how to actually put it in the Whisper Filter.

I take it, it is just an un-necessary part ?

That thing is what passes for a biofilter in the whisper series. It goes between the filter cartridge and the overflow back into the tank.

Yup. It's where alot of your beneficial bacteria should grow, that way when you change out your filter cartridge you're not losing them all.

It seemed to work pretty well on my betta tank, though I would go for a better filter (Aquaclear is my favorite) if you decide to upgrade tanks to a good sized community.
