What Is This Poor Fish?

Hi all

Popped in pets at home to buy dog/cat food,stopped to look at the fish,poor souls were all near the bottom on the tanks looking sorry for themselves!

Anyway i took a pic on my phone of this fish,there use to be 2 of these same size,theres also a smaller one probably 5 inches plus a huge plec and 2 bottom dwellers fairly long maybe loaches 7-8 inches hiding in a log at the bottom.the tank they were in was a fluval 260,they were advertising the tank but not the fish.

This huge poor fish,i'm not sure what it is? it had a job to move around in there,there was a huge filter dangling down one side and a huge skull ornament the other end!

I reckon it was easily a foot long.i couldnt get a whole pic of the tank showing the fish but did manage to take a pic of this fish.
Anyone know what it is?
It looks so sad!

Chances are it has been brought in by a customer - bet it's not there long.

Yeah I've felt sorry for the big Oscars many a times. It will not be there long. They are good at getting sympathy

Not sure it's company-wide but the PaH in Norwich (south side) refuse to take in customer stock due to quarantine requirements. Is the oscar on sale or might it be forming part of a display? Apparently Amwell in Cambs host a tank that one of their staff owns and maintains so that's possible too.

Our local P@H take in fish - usually big plecs but I've also seen Oscars and I got my clarias there and that was a fish someone had 'donated'.

It is unlikely it is a display or member of staff's fish.

Oscars have a rediculous personality... a better personality then clown loaches... they are literaly a good pet...
