OH MY ! failed attempt at a picture of my mature male sail fin tetra. flaring his fins

today we had a frozen blood worm feast, for most of the tanks... my male sail fin tetra spends most of it's time in a hollow log, when I didn't have my camera, he came out, and flaired his dorsal and anal fins ( or what ever the fin is called on the bottom, back side of the fish ) it's in a highly shaded tank, but the display made him look 3 times bigger... sorry, I'm not even positive this is the same fish, as I had to run upstairs to get the phone, and by then, most of the blood worms were gone, but he looked huge against the dimly lit background

The pair of fins under the belly are ventral or pelvic fins. The terms are synonymous. The single fin between the ventrals and caudal is the anal fin.

Moving on up… my mature male has moved from a hard to see cave, to a new cave on the other side of the tank, that is much easier to see into, and in less shadow… much more color, on some of the fins…
