What Is The Best Dither Fish?

Hi, I've got a 55 gallon cichlid tank. The stocking list is in my sig. The angelfish, pleco, and bala will be sold soon. The thing is, I want 6 dither fish that will kind of fill out that empty gap of space in the middle of the tank. My 3 choices at my local fish store are: 6 Giant Danios, 6 Scissor Tail Rasbora, or 6 Tiger Barbs. Which one do you think I should get?

Second on the Tigers - avoid - too agressive although in a cichlid tank this may not be so much of a problem.

If you have your heart set on the look of tiger barbs - pensatona barbs (5 banded barbs) look very similar - dont get quite so big but are much more peaceful. They will readily shoal but tend to hang around the bottom of my tank.

I love silver tipped tetra. As long as they are in a decent sized tank and have places to play they are great fun. They dither, but when their females are "ripe" with eggs they chase around the place and liven things up.

12+ rasboras. You need more than 6 to be honest! Avoid the barbs. They "sleep" at night and might get eaten.

I'd imagine the eel would soon make a treat out of any of the suggested dithers..
